Christmas
Party Games
With the holiday season also being a season
of parties, people are always on the lookout for Christmas
party games. Of course, the type of games depends on the age
group attending the party. Children will need games geared
toward the young, while adults will enjoy more grown up games.
So, rule number one in choosing the games, is know your
guests.
Charades is always a great party game for just about any age
except for the very young. It’s a lot of fun to act out
different Christmas themed ideas, and this is one of the tried
and true Christmas party games. You can feel pretty safe in
choosing this as one of your games because everyone loves to
play. It’s possible for older children to also play a version
of charades, too.
A fun party game for Christmas is called
Santa Dress Up. The guests are divided into two teams. Each
team is given only paper, cotton and tape. Their goal is to use
these items to make a Santa Claus costume. The team who can
make the most convincing costume in the least amount of time is
the winner. This game can get really crazy but it’s a lot of
fun for everyone.
You can get very creative with your
Christmas party games using things you just happen to have
around the house. One of these games is called Christmas Card
Toss. Place a laundry basket a few feet away from 2
participants. Each player is given 5 – 10 Christmas cards,
depending on how long you want the game to last. The players
must stand in a certain place. This can be done by marking a
line for them to stand behind. Then each one tosses their
cards, one at a time, toward the laundry basket. The player who
gets the most of their cards in the basket is the winner. This
game sounds deceptively easy, but is actually quite a challenge
as the cards seem to have wills of their own when flying
through the air.
Christmas party games can be either well
played ones or some you make up all on your own. As long as
they are fun, and everyone is having a great time, it really
doesn’t matter what the origin is. One thing you should always
keep in mind though, is to have enough prizes on hand for the
winners, as well as a few to hand out as consolation prizes.
Everyone loves to take home a prize from parties, and Christmas
parties are no exception. Keep the prizes, as the games, geared
to your guests.
