Christmas
Lighting
A huge part of the Yule season involves
Christmas lighting. This is done in many ways, depending on the
effect you are trying to accomplish.
Lighting can be used in many creative ways,
from decorating the tree to enhancing outdoor decorations.
People who are lucky enough to have natural Christmas trees
growing on their front lawns install lights on them each year
for the entire neighborhood to enjoy.
Not all holiday lighting is electrical or battery powered,
though. There are many people who choose to use real candles as
part, or all, of their Christmas lighting. This must be done
very carefully so that fires are not started. Therefore, you
would not be able to use real candles on your tree, or near
other flammable material. It is also advisable to snuff out all
candles before leaving the house, or retiring for the
night.
Indoor lights include tree decorations, the framing of windows
from the inside, and doorways. You can even string lights
across your ceiling to create a special cozy, yet festive look.
Being creative is easy when decorating inside your house with
lights. You are only limited by your imagination and the amount
of plugs you have to power the lights.
Christmas lighting is a very popular decorating idea for the
outdoors. These lights can be used to make small trees, bushes,
and porch rails sparkle. People who go all out when enhancing
the outside of their homes generally use lots of lights to make
the different holiday scenes stand out. Many of these include
rooftop scenes of Santa and his reindeer. Other ideas are
complete well lit nativity scenes on the lawn.
Churches get involved with the holiday season by holding
special candle light services, or candle masses. Everyone is
given a candle as they enter the church. These are to be lit at
a certain point in the service, at which time all electrical
lights are extinguished. Anyone who has attended one of these
services will know what a very moving experience it can be.
When choosing the appropriate Christmas lighting for your home,
office, church or other structure, there are many things to
consider. One of them, of course, is what sort of look you are
trying to create. This will affect what sort of lighting you
choose, whether it should be electrical, battery powered, or
candle light. Safety issues are always very important factors
in this choice. You would not want to risk harm to people or
materials. It is quite simple to find just the lighting you
need, once you have decided what sort of scene you are
creating. Taking all factors into consideration, you can go
about selecting the lighting that will work best.
